A great opportunity to witness some of the regions most endangered large birds. After an early start we will head out to the flooded area known as the Florican Grasslands, here you will have the chance to view the critically endangered Bengal Florican (which possibly has the highest population in the world right here) and the winter visitor, the Manchurian Reed-warbler. There over 40 significant species inhabiting this area so there is a very good chance of spotting numerous birds in this region, including large birds of prey and water birds.
We then head to the north plains, away from the wetlands, to the Chheap Wildlife Sanctuary. Here you have the very unique experience of watching some of Cambodia’s last remaining vultures feeding on a carcass. Three types of vulture will likely come for a feed here, they are; white-rumped vulture, Slender-billed vulture, Red-headed vulture. This is a great experience for bird photographers and bird watchers.
You will spend tonight in a safari styled tent set up nearby where you can do casual bird watching hikes or relax under the stars as your team wait on your desires. Tomorrow morning we will make our way back, there are more options to take in more birding on the way at some great locations, our team can provide more information depending on your requirements.
