Eastern Spirtuality & Buddhism

Experience Details

Start the day with a handcrafted coffee brewed with sustainably produced beans and roasted by a national champion roaster when we pick you up. We have the option to start today’s journey by a new spacious luxury van or jump into the local culture’s sights, smells, and sounds with a outfitted mountain bike. We will head out of the city and along the narrow lanes and red dirt back roads taking in small villages and greeting friendly locals along the way. We will cycle through a former capital city and along the banks of the Tonle Sap River visiting a pretty rural island in the river. Depending on your fitness we are able to tailor the distance to suit, as our expert guides have a wealth of knowledge of the area.

Our destination is Phnom Oudong (Phnom meaning mountain), the former capital of Cambodia before it was moved to Phnom Penh in 1866. The top of the mountain is adorned with a large and beautiful Pagoda containing many Stupas and Monks. Oudong is still a significant religious site for Cambodian’s. Here you will receive a private Monk blessing with water, at the end of the ritual you will presented with a red band tied around your wrist to symbolise good luck and prosperity on your journey. We will stop at a local restaurant for lunch to sample the local fare.
