You will be guided today in a tuk tuk by a long term Siem Reap resident and gallery curator to gain a deep insight in to the artists working in Siem Reap and where they find their inspiration. You will visit a number of galleries in town and personal studios to go behind the scenes into some of the Artists personal studios and homes to meet the artists themselves. This is much more than an art discovery but a journey of personal discovery of what is happening in Cambodia’s art scene at present through the personal stories of those driving it.
Your Guide
With over sixteen years of living and working in the Siem Reap art scene, you wouldn’t want anyone else as a guide for this unique experience. A seasoned expat and collector, Robina has had the opportunity to forge strong personal relationships with all of the artists and creative souls that you will interact with on this experience.
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Robina arrived in Siem Reap in 2006 to work with American fine art photographer, John McDermott. In 2008 she established Siem Reap Art Tours to help enlighten visitors to the majestic temples of Angkor about the high calibre of art and design that is available within Siem Reap’s creative community.
You will touch on a vast range of media on this tour – from local lacquer artists to fine art photography to emerging Cambodian contemporary pieces and international high-end modern art, finding them in temple town’s little nooks and crannies is what we specialise in.
