Once renowned as ‘the pearl of Asia’ nowadays it is a bustling capital city and Cambodia’s commercial centre. The population here is strikingly young in part due to the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime that has had a lasting effect on the country. Cambodian’s remain optimistic and resilient, they are some of the most welcoming people in the world.
